postmarked June 13, 1958

These vintage postcards were tucked in my stocking care of my mother-in-law.

"Visiting churches and cathedrals.  I am almost moved to tears sometimes at the beauty of these fine old buildings.  I think they are like old paintings. Something we should enjoy while we can.  They will never be equalled in our time."

Just a little reminder that tomorrow is the last day to mail out your domestic Christmas cards to be sure that they arrive in time!  As one of my favourite Rifle Paper Co. cards says: Be merry and bright!

wild

"I hadn't yet opened the letter he'd sent me, in contrast to the customary envelope-ripping glee with which I usually greeted mail." Cheryl Strayed

I've been reading Wild this past week every spare moment I find - over breakfast, wrapped up in blankets, in the bath late at night.  Cheryl Strayed hiked the Pacific Crest Trail in California and Oregon when she was 26 years old.  It made me nostalgic for forests and camping and hiking - and being 26 years old.

A week ago I popped in to the OCAD U Book Arts Fair.  Happily I came home with screenprints galore!  A pink camper postcard made by Spark Box Studio and Frankly Franny's mini postcards with gold fold stamping.

Mexico

I'm back from a week spent on the Pacific coast of Mexico.  It was lovely and hot. Huatulco, being fifteen degrees north of the equator, is really, really hot!  We swam, read a lot, played ping pong, painted, ate guacamole every day (sometimes twice a day!) and just enjoyed a week of summer in November.

One Plus One

Earlier this month I met One Plus One designer Jessie for tea and sweets.  Jessie was in town visiting from her hometown of Winnipeg.  We've been blog friends for a few years now so it was really nice to meet up!

I have now happily started writing Christmas cards - with these adorable One Plus One cards.

P.S. And how beautiful are these floral cards?  Perfect for everyday note writing!
